How to organise school announcements and class documents
An important notice can be hard to find among many messages. Separating announcements, dates and files by topic helps families and representatives find the information they need. Here is a practical class organisation routine with RepClass.

Give each announcement a clear title
Choose a title that identifies the topic, such as “Family meeting — 20 November”. Explain what will happen, who should attend and what action is needed. State any deadline explicitly. A specific title is more useful than “Important” when someone needs to find the notice later.
Separate the notice from the event date
The announcement explains the context; the schedule records the date. For a meeting or trip, keep the details consistent in both places. Check the time, location and deadline before publishing. Families can then read the full notice and find the event in the class schedule.

Keep files in the appropriate section
Use Documents for materials that need to remain available. Give files recognisable names, such as “School supplies — 2026”. Materials for a homework task can accompany that task. Before sharing, check that the file is correct and that the class recipients should have access to its information.

Explain where families can find information
When inviting families, explain where announcements, homework, events and documents are stored. A short instruction helps: “Notices are in Announcements and dates are in Schedule”. RepClass also organises content notifications, but checking the class sections regularly remains a useful habit.
Review changed information
If a date or instruction changes, update the corresponding content and explain what changed. Avoid leaving contradictory instructions in place. When sharing an official school notice, preserve its meaning and identify the source. Class organisation should clarify the message without introducing new school rules.
Example: a class trip
An announcement can explain the trip, the schedule can record the date and Trips can hold the activity details. If there is a collection, payment records help track the information; the money is paid outside RepClass. Each section has a purpose, so the details need not depend on one conversation.
A clear notice answers three questions
- What is happening?
- When and where?
- What does the family need to do?
How RepClass helps your class
RepClass brings together announcements, homework, calendars, documents, polls and payment records in a space for parents and class representatives. Families browse by topic; invited teachers can publish homework with photos, documents and audio without entering the parents’ private space.
Announcements
Important notices get their own space, away from the flow of conversations.
A PRIVATE FAMILY SPACE
Teacher participation is optional and by invitation. Teachers can publish homework with photos, documents and audio; the class remains private for parents and guardians.
